This book is one of the most comprehensive books I have seen on this topic. It provides interesting background on the history of American Sign Language and offers some easy to read research on infants and why sign language enhances a babies development.

Sign language allows babies to communicate their needs, wants and feelings before they have developed oral language thus encouraging social interaction with their parents and caregivers that babies appear to crave. Through the use of signs parents and caregivers are able to connect with a pre-language infant and experience the relief of understanding their needs.

This book offers a wonderful new and comprehensive approach to using sign language with babies. It is easy to read and full of simple to understand illustrations that will help parents to get involved quickly in engaging their babies in communicating with them. There is now doubt in my mind that the use of sign language during the first two years of life helps parents to connect with their babies, promoting bonding that will last a lifetime. Babies Can Talk is a gift every new parent should receive.

Here it is!! A book to help your baby enjoy language learning. And, it does not require a special school or computers or other expensive equipment. Actually, after you get the book, the rest is free. The authors have had numerous experiences with very young children and signing. Their vast knowledge of signing contributes to the user friendliness of this book.
